Description
Charagma means an engraving, and this necklace is made for one: a slim bar, 30 mm by 5 mm, polished smooth on both sides, hanging horizontally on a fine cable chain. We engrave it with up to 16 characters, so it can carry a child’s name, a date, coordinates or a single word. It sits close to the collarbone at 40 cm and lengthens to 45 cm. A gift for a baptism, for a mother or for a name day. Engraved pieces are made for you and cannot be returned.

Materials & care
Gold-plated 925 silver
925 silver is 92.5% pure silver, alloyed with other metals for strength. Gold-plated means a thin layer of gold covers its surface, giving the warm yellow colour for a fraction of the price of solid gold. Because the layer is thin, it wears with time and friction, fastest where a piece rubs: the inside of a ring, a clasp, the back of an earring. Perfume, sweat, chlorine and salt water wear it faster. 925 sterling silver
925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver; the rest is other metals, which make it hard enough to wear. It has the bright, cool white of silver all the way through, so there is no layer to wear away. Over time it darkens in air and on contact with some foods, rubber and cosmetics; this is tarnish, a surface film that a silver polishing cloth removes. Wear it often and keep it in a closed pouch, and it stays bright. [PLACEHOLDER: owner to confirm whether silver pieces are left natural or rhodium-plated.]
Care
An engraving on gold-plated silver softens after years of wear. Wipe the bar with a soft cloth, never a polishing cloth, to keep the letters crisp.
