Limni means lake, and the stone at the top of this ring has the colour of mountain water on a bright day: a pale-blue cabochon, smooth and domed, about 9 mm across, held in a plain bezel. Below it, a wide band of hammered, crumpled metal wraps around the finger and overlaps itself, open at the back so that it adjusts gently, from about EU 52 to 60. It is the boldest ring we make, and it needs nothing else beside it.
925 silver is 92.5% pure silver, alloyed with other metals for strength. Gold-plated means a thin layer of gold covers its surface, giving the warm yellow colour for a fraction of the price of solid gold. Because the layer is thin, it wears with time and friction, fastest where a piece rubs: the inside of a ring, a clasp, the back of an earring. Perfume, sweat, chlorine and salt water wear it faster. When the silver starts to show, the piece can be plated again. [PLACEHOLDER: owner to state the thickness and caratage of the gold layer, and whether the shop re-plates, and at what cost.]
925 sterling silver is 92.5% pure silver; the rest is other metals, which make it hard enough to wear. It has the bright, cool white of silver all the way through, so there is no layer to wear away. Over time it darkens in air and on contact with some foods, rubber and cosmetics; this is tarnish, a surface film that a silver polishing cloth removes. Wear it often and keep it in a closed pouch, and it stays bright. [PLACEHOLDER: owner to confirm whether silver pieces are left natural or rhodium-plated.]
A pale-blue stone cut smooth and domed, as a cabochon, rather than faceted, so that it glows softly instead of sparkling. [PLACEHOLDER: owner to confirm which stone it is and whether it is natural.]
A domed stone shows scratches more readily than a faceted one: keep the ring away from knocks and household chemicals, and wipe the stone with a damp cloth, never a polishing cloth.
You have 14 days from receipt to withdraw, no reason needed, and 14 days from telling us to send the piece back. Engraved pieces and those made to your specifications are the exception. [PLACEHOLDER: to be reviewed by a lawyer.]
