Description
Nifada means snowflake: one small, bright thing that stands out against dark wool. This pendant is a single drop-shaped cubic zirconia, 6 mm long, held in a slim four-claw setting of 14k white gold, on a fine 14k white-gold chain of 42 cm with a 3 cm extension. It is the quietest piece in the shop: the necklace you put on in the morning and forget you are wearing. Pair it with the Pachni huggies for a set that goes from the office to a wedding.

Materials & care
14k white gold
14k gold is 585 parts pure gold in 1,000, alloyed with other metals; in white gold, those metals give it a pale, silvery colour. It is gold all the way through, harder-wearing than silver and suited to pieces worn every day. White gold is often finished with a bright plating that can warm slightly in tone over the years; a goldsmith can restore it. Cubic zirconia
Cubic zirconia, sold in Greece as «ζιργκόν», is a crystal made in a laboratory and cut with many facets so that it throws back the light. It gives real sparkle at an everyday price. It is hard-wearing but can be scratched by harder materials, so store pieces apart.

A fine gold chain can kink: fasten the clasp before putting it away, and hang it or lay it flat.
